Drake Is Spotify’s Most-Streamed Artist of 2018
Drake continues to win big in 2018. After scoring another No. 1 record with Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode," Drake has now been announced as Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2018. The announcement was made late last night (Dec. 3).
In total, the "Back to Back" rapper racked up 8.2 billion streams this year, with "God's Plan" being the No. 1 streamed song of 2018. His Scorpion album was the most-streamed album of the year. Drake's "In My Feelings" closed out the top five most-streamed songs of the year thanks at least in part to the Shiggy-spearheaded "In My Feelings" Challenge that really made the record blow up.
Besides Drizzy, other artists like Post Malone, the late XXXTentacion, J Balvin and Ed Sheeran make up the top five list of most streamed Artists in the world. Meanwhile, Cardi B also made the top five list of most streamed female artists in the world along with Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello and Taylor Swift.
The news of Drake's newest accomplishment of the year comes on the heels of another possible tour. During the Miami stop of the Aubrey and the Three Migos tour, Lil Wayne teased a new joint show much like their Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour with the OVO Sound founder.
"I can’t wait to get back on that stage and we do our own tour again," Wayne told Drake onstage. "'Drake vs. Tune, Wayne,' whatever you wanna call it. You will never win, you never do. Congratulations!"
We'll let you know if it really goes down. For now, we congratulate Drake for becoming Spotify's most-streamed artist.
