The place to be this weekend is Crater of Diamonds State Park, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas as this one-of-kind park gets ready to celebrate its 50th Anniversary on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23.

Crater of Diamonds State Park is North America’s only public diamond mine since it opened in 1972.  People travel from all over the world in hopes of finding that perfect diamond. 50th Anniversary Celebration

On Friday, April 22, Crater of Diamonds State Park will kick off this special two-day celebration with an introduction to a brand new display commemorating the discovery of the new 8.52-carat Esperanza Diamond Park. This diamond is the sixth-largest diamond found in the park in the past 50 years and is absolutely dazzling. The diamond found in 2015 was appraised at $1 million dollars and was cut into briolette shape weighing in at 4.6 carats.

Now is probably the best time for digging because we've had so much rain likely.

Join the 50th year anniversary celebration Friday and Saturday at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro.  Get more information on their Facebook page.
