The Texas Department of Public Safety is reminding motorists to buckle up as we head into the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.Click it or Ticket will run from May 20th through June 2nd. Law enforcement officials from across the state will be looking for and ticketing unbucled drivers and passengers in an effort to raise safety awareness and prevent traffic fatalities.

By Texas law, all occupants of a vehicle, including back seat passengers must wear a seat belt. Each unbuckled occupant faces a ticket and fines up to $200. Last year, more than 21,000 seat belt citations were issued during the Click it or Ticket campaign.
