Annual Free Tree Giveaway Set for Feb. 26 in New Boston
The Bowie County Master Gardeners Association will offer free trees at its annual Tree Give-Away starting at 10:00 AM Friday, February 26, 2021.
According to a press release, Trees will be given away on a first-come-first-serve basis or until all the trees are gone. The annual event is co-sponsored by the Bowie County Master Gardeners and the Texas Forest Service. Participants will be able to receive 10 seedlings to take home and plant.
The event will be held at the Trailhead Park in New Boston. It is a Drive-thru event.
Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service of Bowie County offers a wide variety of educational programs and informational literature. Programs are offered in traditional agriculture, 4-H and youth development, horticulture, and family and consumer sciences.
Today, Bowie County has a population of approximately 90,000 people, fifty percent of that population lives in Texarkana.
Anyone needing special assistance at an Extension program should contact the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office at 903-628-6702 at least one week prior to the program or event. Extension programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
