It's always such a nice dreamy idea to have a real White Christmas with beautiful fresh snow on the ground. As we get closer to Christmas I can't help but wonder if we might see a white Christmas and what does the Farmers Almanac say? 

When Was The Last White Christmas in Arkansas?

The last White Christmas in Arkansas, according to 4029news.com was in 2012. That was in central Arkansas. The last White Christmas in Texarkana was in 2000, but does that really count considering it was mostly ice. If you remember, there was enough ice to close the town down and the power and water too. I definitely do not want to go there again.

When Was The Last White Christmas in Texas?

According to spectrumlocalnews.com, in the Texas panhandle, it was 2012. In the Dallas Forth Worth area, it was 2009.

This Year The Farmers Almanac Has Been Accurate

Earlier this year they predicted a 'Frosty Flip-Flop Winter', and if the weather we've been having isn't 'Flip Floppy' then I don't know what is.  They also are still calling for our area of Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma to be "Chilled to the Bone, with near-normal precipitation". Hmmm, sound familiar?

What About a 2021 White Christmas for Arkansas and Texas?

So far the prediction for a White Christmas in Arkansas and Texas doesn't look very good, unless of course if you live in the northern portion of Arkansas and also in the Texas panhandle, then you might see some flurries.

Are We Predicted to Have Any Snow This Winter?

The next chance for us to see snow according to the Farmers Almanac will be in mid to late January, where we may see more frigid temperatures and snow like last year. Yes, I think we all remember last year:

Hopefully, it won’t be as robust, but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.

Let's stop dreaming of a White Christmas and enjoy the Reason for the Season. Then we can start preparing for snow next month. Personally, I'm okay with that. I'd rather have a "No White Christmas" than a "No Power or Water Christmas" any day.
