50 Cent Announces ‘Black Mafia Family’ TV Show
50 Cent is about to expand his television reach. Following the success of his STARZ series Power, the G-Unit leader is now planning a new show about the infamous Black Mafia Family.
"From the executive producer of POWER Curtis (50cent) Jackson and Randall Emmett is bringing B.M.F To the screen," 50 Cent wrote on Instagram today (July 7). "This Tv series is gonna blow you away. #EFFENVODKA #FRIGO."
For those who are unfamiliar, the Black Mafia Family was a powerful drug trafficking organization that met its downfall in 2005. The organization was heavily connected to hip-hop and even launched their own imprint called BMF Entertainment. Bleu DaVinci was the only known member of the label, but the Black Mafia Family also played a significant role in the early career of Young Jeezy.
Considering the Black Family Family's hip-hop ties, it will be interesting to see how 50 Cent plans to tell this story. The Queens rapper could opt for a completely fictional story about the BMF or delve into the real history of the group's rise and fall. Whatever the case, 50 has less to worry about now that his bankruptcy is finally settled.
A bankruptcy judge signed off on a deal yesterday (July 6) that officially ended 50 Cent's long running case. According to a report by TMZ, the "21 Questions" rapper will have to pay out $23 million to his creditors over the next five years. $17 million of that will being going to Sleek Audio while $6 million is due to Rick Ross' baby mama Lastonia Leviston.
