You Can Help the Texarkana Community in Need This Holiday Season
Christmas is fast approaching and The Salvation Army is preparing for the annual Red Kettle campaign, Angel Tree, and other holiday programs. The Salvation Army of Texarkana is calling on everyone to help individuals and families overcome the threat of eviction amid the holiday season.
Needs are increasing again this holiday season because of the threat of evictions and a resurging pandemic. The Salvation Army staff and volunteers are steadfast on the frontlines of need to ensure hope marches on. The organization anticipates a greater need from individuals and families struggling to stay in their homes this holiday season.
There are several ways in which you can help fill the need of individuals or families that are struggling.
The Red Kettle
For a gift of $25 per month, you will be enlisted in Love's Army. Make a donation at RegisterTo Ring or sign up as a volunteer at a red kettle. Take the Red Kettle Challenge by creating your own virtual kettle visit their website to find out how you can help. Give any amount by texting "KETTLES" to 91999.
Angel Tree
Take a paper ornament from the Salvation Army Angel Tree and fulfill the dream of a local child in need with a new toy or clothing that they requested. You can call 870-774-2701 to volunteer or help organize and distribute Angel Tree gifts.
Donate Digitally
For the very first time ever, you can donate by using Bitcoin or Ethereum or donate digitally with Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Venmo at any red kettle. You can also ask Alexas to donate by saying, "Alexa, donate to The Salvation Army," then specify the amount.
The good thing about your donations no matter how you decide to donate stays right here in our community and helps hope march on for those in need. Visit SalvationArmyTexas.org on what you can do this year.
