Imagine, being able to step out of reality and into a famous painting, that's what you will find at this Van Gogh show.

A short two-and-a-half-hour drive up the road and you can get yourself some culture, just like my wife and I did last weekend. Seriously, I have always been a fan of Vincent Van Gogh's art, not because I know anything about art, just because I like it.

Van Gogh happens to be my wife's favorite painter so when she heard about this experience she grabbed us some tickets as soon as they came out.

Tickets start at $34 each during the week but they go up on the weekends. There are VIP packages available too.

By the way, they have two versions of this show in the metroplex right now, one in Arlington at the old Ranger Ballpark which is now Choctaw Stadium, the other is in Dallas. I know the Arlington show has been extended through February of next year. Not sure about the Dallas show.

The image above is a selfie station, an actual bedroom setup like the painting of Van Gogh's bedroom, pretty cool. Same kinda thing below, except I stuck myself in it. You can't tell, but yes, I was smiling really big. Yes, the face-diapers are mandatory right now.

You should have seen me sitting like a five-year-old, tongue sticking out, trying to stay in the lines in the coloring room...

It was fun though.

The virtual reality headsets are highly recommended, that's another one of those trippy things to do, but it's worth the extra five bucks, included if you are a VIP ticket holder.

Donna and I were there about two hours in all, you can do it in 40 minutes if you're in a hurry but don't be. The Van Gogh Immersive Experience is designed as a slow-down flow through, take your time, learn new things, and enjoy kind of experience. It's well worth the money if you ask me.

We also heard a rumor that an actual Van Gogh exhibit is coming to a Dallas museum soon, we'll let you know.
