Update on TISD Crossing Guard Who Was Hit by Car in September
We have an update on TISD Crossing Guard Ron Ferguson. The school district received a great photo from Ron's wife Bonnie.
TISD posted on their Facebook page:
Ron was able to walk about 25 feet using his walker. Ron is improving a little bit everyday but still has a long road ahead of him. They send their appreciation to everyone who has kept him and his family in their prayers. Please continue to do so as Ron makes strides in his progress daily
Back on September 21, Ron was directing the morning traffic at Texas High School he was struck by a vehicle.
According to Texarkana Texas Police, a 76-year-old man was driving his Ford pickup southbound on Summerhill Road and had gotten into the turn lane in preparation of making a left turn into the Summerhill Square parking lot. He apparently didn't see the crossing guard there and struck him.
The 68-year-old crossing guard was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition and was for quite a while.
It is so great to see that Ron is getting stronger every day. Let's keep those prayers coming for his fast and total recovery.
