The Situation From ‘Jersey Shore’ Has Been Sentenced To 8 Months in Prison For Tax Evasion
The Situation is in a bit of a, well, bad situation. TMZ reports that Jersey Shore star Mike Sorrentino, better known as The Situation, has been sentenced to eighth months in prison for tax evasion.
Back in 2014, the reality star and his brother Marc Sorrentino were indicted on multiple tax offense charges related to $8.9 million in income. Then last year, the two were indicted on even more charges, including tax evasion, structuring, and falsifying records. Earlier this year, the Jersey Shore star pled guilty to concealing his income, while his brother pled guilty to one count of assisting in the preparation of a false return.
On Friday, the Sorrentino brothers arrived in New Jersey court for sentencing. The MTV star’s attorneys initially asked that he only get probation, while prosecutors requested 14 months in prison. He’s now been sentenced to eight months, followed by two years of supervised release. But he did get a considerably lighter sentence compared to his brother. Marc Sorrentino has been sentenced to two years in prison with supervised release for a year, and also has to pay a $75,000 fine.
If the Jersey Shore gang ever take a third family vacation, hopefully they’ll wait until The Situation gets out of his… OK, you get it.
