Texarkana Makes Semi-Finals to Win $25,000 Amtrak Area Facelift

We are so excited to find out that Texarkana is now in the Semi-Finals to win $25,000 to give the Amtrak area downtown a very, very, very much needed makeover. We've seen a lot of great renovations and improvements going on in downtown Texarkana. Now we really have a chance to win that facelift for our Amtrak Area in the Union Station building downtown. All we have to do is vote online!

The Amtrak part of Union Station needs help and bad. Can you imagine having a pretty and inviting area where the Amtrak train stops? Instead, it looks sad, uninviting and dangerous.

Here's What Leadership Texarkana Wants To Do With the Money

Leadership Texarkana class of 2022 nominated the Amtrak area to win in America's Mainstreets Contest sponsored by Stihl.  Here's what they would love to do with the money.

Power washing the exterior brick, purchasing a themed wrap/banner for the painted concrete portion of the building, freshening all signage, cleaning up the landscaping, installation of an awning for protection from weather, installation of festive lighting and providing a photo op and trash receptacles are some of the plans we propose.

 

As You Can See The Area REALLY Needs a Facelift

The winning community will win $25,000 in cash and related prizes to help renovate the area that was nominated. We are now in the Semi-finals! I seriously think we can do this! We are up against 25 other towns so please remember to vote.

Vote up to 25 Times Per Device Every 24 Hours

The rules are still the same you can vote up to 25 times per device every 24 hours. Yes that means you can vote from your computer at work. Then you can go home and vote from your home computer or laptop or phone. This voting period goes until December 12. Then it's up to the judges. The winner will be announced around December 20th.
