At least 404 Family Dollar Stores across 11 states including several in Arkansas were closed on Saturday after an FDA inspection of their distribution center in West Memphis discovered a rat infestation. A recall on possible contamination of certain products was issued for Family Dollar stores, luckily Texarkana was not on that list.

According to the Food and Drug Administration food that was shipped to the list of the stores from January 1, to the present date was issued a voluntary retail level product recall on drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, dietary supplements, human and animal pet products. This does not include frozen or refrigerated items that are shipped directly from the manufacturer. Health concerns over possible Salmonella which can cause a variety of symptoms including fatal conditions if left untreated associated with rodent infestation or activity.

If you think you may have bought any items from any of the stores on this list recently, you are asked to return the item to the store you purchased them from without a receipt. Seek out a health professional if you think you may have been affected by the recall.
