Texarkana Water Utilities will begin a temporary change to the method of disinfecting our drinking water beginning July 19, and lasting about eight weeks. The water will remain safe to drink throughout the process.

Just in case you haven't heard as of February 18, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Central Bowie County WSC public water system to issue a Boil Water Notice.

Good news! Texarkana Water Utilities is reporting the final test results on our water have come back good. So with that being said, the boil order has been rescinded.

Update: The boil order in Texarkana and surrounding areas will not be lifted until at least noon tomorrow Tuesday, March 17. 2020. According to a press release, this boil remains in effect due to additional state-testing requirements.
