Veterans Day is a time to recognize and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifices for our country and our freedoms. As a way to thank the veterans in Texarkana, below are restaurants in our area offering a special meal or discount for our veterans.

The Texas A&M University-Texarkana Veterans Services office and Student Veterans Association will celebrate “More than Just a Day” during the week of November 7-11 in honor of the nation’s veterans and active-duty military.

The Texarkana Area Veterans Council will host its annual Veterans Day Parade this year on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at East Broad and Hazel Street in Downtown Texarkana beginning at 11AM. Veterans Day is always observed on Nov. 11 with speeches and parades across the U.S. The holiday began as Armistice Day on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. There are several events planned for the Texarkana area on Wednesday Nov. 11, to honor our local veterans.
