Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the sound of big beefy radial engines roaring up the flight line or maybe a Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered P51 screaming down on show center for a knife-edge photo pass. I'm talking about air shows baby, and there's a good one coming soon in Big D.

I'm sure most of you have seen the horrific crash by now that happened this past Saturday, November 12 at the Wings Over Dallas World War II airshow. Today the Commemorative Air Force released the names of the men lost in that accident.

Since my mother, and now a whole bunch of my new family (long story), lives in Houston, I make pretty frequent trips down there to see them. On one of those trips a few years ago I found out that the Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is based at the West Houston Airport (IWS), very near my mother's house.
