UPDATED: Midnight is a two-year-old miniature schnauzer that was featured on our Tuesday's Provide a Pet a Pad program on Power 95.9. The good news is he has been adopted! He was found roaming Texarkana in May and is now headed to a new home to live with his forever family.

There are many other animals at the shelter that deserve the same second chance that Midnight is getting. Please adopt!

This 15-pound pooch is a handsome fella, and with a little TLC his wiry salt-and-pepper coat will shine brilliantly.

Although he's small enough to make a great companion in your house or apartment, he can also bark loud enough to provide plenty of protection should he detect that something is amiss.

Midnight is smart and ever cheerful, eager to leap up and nuzzle close beside you on a park bench or sofa, making him an ideal companion.

One of the great things about Miniature Schnauzers like Midnight is that they are very trainable and they don't shed much either! But since they were bred to be small farm dogs, they're also good at keeping the vermin away!

The fee to adopt Midnight is $116, which includes a $40 adoption fee and a $76 fee to have him neutered, which is mandatory for all animals adopted from the shelter.

However, when you adopt Midnight, or any of our Provide A Pet A Pad animals, you will receive a FREE basic survival kit for your new dog from the Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital valued at $100! This kit includes everything he might need, including vaccinations, testing for worms, one month's treatment for fleas and heart worms and so much more.

However, if Midnight isn't the companion for you, there are tons of dogs to choose from and adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet.

You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter! That way if your pet is ever lost, he can be returned to you quickly.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
