
Local Red Cross To Open Shelter For Isaac Evacuees
The Texarkana Chapter of the American Red Cross is opening up a shelter for evacuees from Hurricane IsaacThe shelter at Williams Memorial Methodist Church at 4000 Moores Lane opens at 8 p.m. Tuesday night. It will be a place of refuge for people fleeing the storm in South Louisiana. The shelter will provide a place to reset and meals along with medical help for those who need it.
Families or individuals seeking shelter information should contact the local Red Cross office at (903) 793-5602. Anyone interested in volunenteering can also phone or go by the chapter office at 821 Spruce Street in Texarkana, Texas.
