Tomi Lahren Slams Jay-Z’s NFL Partnership: “Apparently the League Doesn’t Hate America Enough”
Tomi Lahren is not happy with the NFL's decision to work with Jay-Z.
Late on Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 14), the right-wing political commentator gave her opinion on Jay-Z and Roc Nation's moves to work with the NFL. Lahren, whose relationship with hip-hop remains strained, decided to vent her thoughts about the situation.
"Jay-Z will be consulting with the NFL for the Super Bowl halftime show and other performances because apparently the league doesn't hate America and law enforcement officers at a level satisfactory enough for the former drug dealer," Lahren tweeted.
Before Lahren said her piece, The New York Times reported that Hov will partner with the NFL to oversee entertainment and social justice initiatives for the league. Jay-Z and Roc Nation have been named the league's live music entertainment strategists, and they will be overseeing the Super Bowl halftime show.
“I think we have autonomy,” Jay said about Roc Nation's partnership with the league. “I anticipate that there will be a lot of — with any big organization, in this building right here we have internal problems. Anything that’s new is going to go through its growing pains. We put what we want to do on the table. The NFL agreed to it. So we’re gonna proceed with that as if we have a partnership.”
It's probable that Hov won't respond directly to Lahren the way that Wale, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj and others have in the past. After all, he's a man of few words.
