El Paso’s Mija Market Returns
One of El Paso, TX’s beloved markets is coming back and is expected to be bigger an better than ever! The 5th Annual Mija Market is officially happening on Saturday, September 27 at the Cowtown Boots Outdoor Venue located in east El Paso at 11451 Gateway Blvd West.
Hosted by local non-profit, ‘Mija, Yes You Can,’ this year’s market is a celebration of community, creativity, and culture. The event has become a staple in El Paso, showcasing local creators, small business owners, and artists.
El Pasoans Can Support Local While Shopping For A Good Cause:
This year the organization will be changing things up by allowing vendors from El Paso and surrounding areas and for the first time ever, the market is open to both female and male entrepreneurs.
And here’s where it gets even better: this year’s market will directly support a brand-new philanthropic partnership with Sun City Musical Arts, a nonprofit working to make music education more accessible to kids in the Borderland.
“With the recent cutbacks in music departments at local school districts, we felt it was important to continue supporting the arts—especially in the grade school ages,” said Mija Market organizers. “For some students, music can be an outlet. I know it was for me growing up. That’s why we want to continue to keep the arts alive in our community.”
In addition to supporting music education, the Mija Market also helps fund the nonprofit’s annual Mija Scholarships—which have already awarded over $50,000 to local women pursuing higher education. So when you shop at this market, you’re literally helping dreams come true.
Here’s What You Can Expect This Year at the 5th Annual Mija Market:
- Live music
- Local food vendors
- Games and raffles
- Dozens of one-of-a-kind small businesses
Vendor applications are now officially open, but capacity is limited and expected to fill fast. Local businesses and organizations are also encouraged to explore sponsorship opportunities to help bring this event to life.

More details, including the entertainment lineup and vendor list, are coming soon—but don’t wait to get involved.
