Clover Valley Instant Coffee Recall Details

Dollar General says the recall affects three specific lots of its 8-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee, sold exclusively at Dollar General stores between July 9 and July 21. The jars have the UPC code 876941004069 and these lot numbers/best-by dates:

• L-5163 – best by 12/13/2026

• L-5164 – best by 12/13/2026

• L-5165 – best by 12/14/2026

The problem? The jars may contain glass fragments that could cause serious injuries, from chipped teeth to internal cuts. So far, no injuries have been reported, but the FDA is clear: do not drink this coffee.

Investigation Into Glass Contamination

The recall started after a customer notified Dollar General about the issue. The company is now investigating how the glass got in there and says it is “sorry for any inconvenience.” (Which is corporate speak for “We hope you didn’t try making a latte out of it already.”)
