Texas, and 21 other states, warned residents to stay indoors as summer temps start to rise and the sun itself becomes a greater danger than usual.

We all know how crazy hot the last couple of summers have been and summer of 2025 looks like it will be just as hot, (El Paso is 3rd fastest warming city), so staying inside is a good idea in general. In addition to the heat, the sun poses a greater risk than usual in many parts of the USA which is why peeps were told to stay inside in almost half the country.

According to Newsweek, ultraviolet radiation, aka UV Rays, were extra high this past Tuesday. Being that summer is just getting started, I have a feeling we're going to see more of these alerts/warnings.

High UV levels can really up the odds of things like skin burns, eye injuries and can lead to issues farther down the line like skin cancer. To help prevent this, officials are urging folks to stay out of the sun completely between 10am and 4pm.
