Afraid Of Alligators? Avoid This Texas River
A list of the 6 most alligator infested rivers in the entire United States of America just came out and ... for good or bad ... Texas made the cut.
Don't worry El Paso, it's not the Rio Grande. You might want to watch for rattlesnakes here and there in our river (bed) but that's about it in terms of dangerous animal life.
We're pretty much marked safe from 'gators and other dangerous, aquatic life. For that matter, our river is safe from water most of the time.
The Rio Grande is pretty safe from any aquatic life at all, (no Texas river surfing risks either), since the El Paso stretch of the Rio is usually bone dry. No 'gator gangs here.
So, anyway, World Atlas ranked the most alligator infested rivers in the USA and Texas is on the list.
Which Texas River Is "Alligator Alley"?
That honor goes to The Brazos River which runs about 1,000 miles from the Texas Panhandle all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Or Gulf of America. (Texas maybe, I don't know ... did we win that one?)

Populations here are most concentrated in the river’s lower reaches, where wetlands and oxbow lakes create shallow feeding areas and spaces to rest and nest in. And unlike many rivers in the Deep South, the Brazos maintains consistent water levels in its lower sections, which helps sustain resident alligators year-round. - worldatlas
These are the top 6 rivers but multiple states are involved as rivers flow wherever they want. South Carolina is the only state that double dipped ... no pun intended ... being home to both the Savannah and Waccamaw rivers.
