A mother in Texas has been placed in jail following her actions on during a traffic stop in the Lone Star State. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

How Did The Situation Begin?

As reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, police report that they pulled over a vehicle on March 31st, 2025. The mother, identified on Facebook via the Harris County Sheriff's Office, was Latasa Hughes. When law enforcement pulled over the vehicle, they realized something inside the car.

According to police, Hughes was "determined that she was intoxicated" per the post. To determine her level of intoxication, officers made Hughes do seven tests in the field to determine sobriety. She was unable to pass any of them, which prompted officers to take her into custody.

However, Hughes was not cooperative with police.

What Did Hughes Do When Police Tried To Arrest Her?

According to the Star-Telegram, Hughes did not cooperate with law enforcement. Instead of complying with the officers, she fought police, and even punching an officer in an attempt to stop the arrest. Eventually, police were able to arrest here.

However, Hughes' trouble with the law continued after the arrest. Per the Star-Telegram and reported by the constable:

“Further investigation revealed she had two open warrants for unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana out of the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office.”

In addition to previously mentioned charges, Hughes was taken into custody on two charges, driving while intoxicated with a child passenger and assault on a public servant.
