Lubbock certainly doesn't have a shortage of opportunities to hear some good Texas country music.

But on Saturday, November 14th, one concert at Cook's Garage is going to be about a whole lot more than what's happening on stage.

Stoney LaRue will headline Cowboys & Courage, a benefit concert raising money for the Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Association and local families dealing with childhood cancer.

And every dollar raised stays right here in our community.

Stoney LaRue Headlines Cowboys & Courage

J. Hoffman's, Kendra Scott and the Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Association are teaming up for Cowboys & Courage at The Bus Barn at Cook's Garage.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7 p.m.

Before Stoney LaRue takes the stage, Lubbock will get performances from Slade Coulter and Colton Mortensen.

General admission and VIP tickets are available for the event.

But the music is only part of what's planned.

There's Plenty Happening Offstage, Too

Cowboys & Courage will feature both silent and live auctions, including a special autographed guitar up for grabs.

J. Hoffman's and Kendra Scott will host a Charm Bar, while Liquid Ink will host a Piercing Party.

So, yes, you could theoretically go to a Stoney LaRue concert, buy some jewelry, get pierced and bid on a guitar all while helping local kids.

That's a pretty productive Saturday night.

The Money Stays in Lubbock

The most important part of Cowboys & Courage is where the money goes.

All proceeds benefit the Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Association and remain local, helping children with cancer and their families throughout Lubbock and surrounding communities.

LPCA provides practical assistance to families dealing with circumstances most of us can't begin to imagine.

That can mean helping pay for medications not covered by insurance, gas and hotel expenses when a child has to travel for treatment, and technology that allows hospitalized kids to keep up with school.

The organization also provides toys and activities for children in the hospital, special celebrations, scholarships, summer camps, family events, peer support and grief counseling.

In other words, LPCA isn't just fighting pediatric cancer. It's helping families deal with all the other things that come along with that fight.

Lubbock Businesses Are Getting Behind the Cause

Cowboys & Courage has also attracted support from businesses and organizations across the community, including Wilhoit Show Goats, Amarillo National Bank, Affordable Storage, University Medical Center, Dermatology Associates of West Texas, Winsupply, Texas Therapy Pros, ACS Computer, Bolton Oil Change, Synergy Home Care, People's Bank, Hub City Digital Company, Choice Media and KLBK.

Every ticket purchased, auction bid and sponsorship helps LPCA continue its work with local families.

Come for the Texas country music. Bid on something at the auction. Have a good time with your friends.

But most importantly, know that when the last song is over and everybody heads home, the money raised that night stays right here in Lubbock, helping local kids and families who could really use someone in their corner.
