Gamestop released a statement calling it the highest trade in their company's history.

Growing up playing video games, you might have traded in old games that you no longer play. Whether that was at a local video game store or a big national chain like Gamestop. In Gamestop's case, many have felt like they have been screwed over in their trades throughout the years. One man in Grapevine, Texas however is feeling good today.

Gamestop nowadays sells more and also trades more than just video games. You can also buy and trade Pokemon cards at the store. Well yesterday, a man walked into a Grapevine, Texas Gamestop with his already graded Pokemon card. Which means it was already officially authenticated as being the highest possible quality of a PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) 10.

The card in question, seen above, has a value of $33,883 according to Gamestop's calculations. Due to their fair market policy of trades, they offered the customer $30,494. Which they graciously accepted. Gamestop in their statement would go onto say, 'Any ongoing objection to our trade values are now deemed without merit and factually invalid.'

Gamestop's Power Packs Buyback Program

 


 


According to the Gamestop statement, this was made using the Power Packs promotion where you choose what level of cards you want to buy. The highest is what they call 'Lunar' which means you're spending $2,500 per card. You can choose to keep the card or sell it back to Gamestop. Someone already found the highest Pokemon card. They're also doing football, baseball, and basketball as well. Read more on their site.
