Wagons For Veterans Fundraiser Returns To Texarkana March 9
I've noticed that all of my favorite events seem to revolve around great food, this time is no different. Who's ready for some amazing outdoor cooking? Do I see hands up?
If you like your food cooked outside, over an open fire in giant iron pots, have we got an event for you to attend, the Texarkana Area Chapter # 278 of the Vietnam Veterans of America is once again hosting the "Wagons for Veterans" fundraiser to help local disabled veterans.
When: Saturday, March 9, 2024
Where: The Four States Fairgrounds
How Much: $15 for all-you-can-eat.
What's On The Menu?
Just about anything you can cook in a cast iron pot over a campfire.
The reason it's called "Wagons for Veterans," is because just about everything on the menu is fixed the old-fashioned way, in cast iron pots and skillets over an open fire, just like they did it on cattle drives of the old west. It's some of the best food you have ever stuffed in your face.
But Wait, There's More!
As if the food wasn't enough there is more going on, including;
- Live Music
- Live Auction
- Corvette Show
- Jeep Show
- Car Show
- Bike Show
- Iron Munchers Forging Demonstration
- Bounce Houses for the Kiddoes
- Antique Tractors
- Square Dancing
You read that right... Square Dancing!
What Time?
Glad you asked...
- 10:30 AM - Gates open to the public
- 11:15 AM - Opening Ceremonies
- 11:30 AM - The feasting begins
Be sure you get there early before the food runs out.
This is the 6th year for this event and it has been an amazing success so far in helping local veterans and their families.
Sponsorship Opportunities are still available and donations for the live auction are still being accepted as well.
