
Leading with Heart: UAHT Honors Two Outstanding Women for 2026
Congratulations are in order as the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana recently recognized two outstanding women for their dedication, leadership, and service to the students and the campus community.
Mrs. Agnes Tirrito was named UAHT’s 2026 Faculty Member of the Year, while Jennifer Cunningham received the university’s Spirit of Excellence in Service Award.

Celebrating Excellence in Education at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana
Tirrito, a member of the Arts and Humanities faculty at UAHT for more than five years, was honored for her commitment to student success and passion for education.
Colleagues described her as a dedicated, student-centered educator who inspires students through her love of literature and thoughtful leadership on campus.
In addition to her work in education, Tirrito is also an artist, author, and poet who remains active in the community.

Recognizing Outstanding Service at UAHT
Cunningham, who has been with the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana for close to eight years, was recognized for her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to go above and beyond for students and coworkers alike.
Her nomination praised her uplifting personality, noting that she “always has a smile and a pun for you.”
Coworkers also highlighted her willingness to help with everything from campus events to supporting fellow staff members, regardless of the task.

Both awards recognize individuals who embody the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana's mission through service, leadership, and dedication to the campus community. Their recognition highlights the impact both these women make on students, faculty, staff, and the university as a whole.
