✔ Second Meeting Is This Thursday
The Texarkana, Texas Parks and Recreation Department has launched Advance TXK Parks, a master planning project aimed at shaping the future of parks, trails, and recreational facilities in the city. Residents are encouraged to participate in public meetings and contribute to the development of a 15- to 20-year blueprint for the city's parks.
The first meeting took place in September, the two remaining public meetings scheduled are:
- Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6:30 PM
- Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 6:30 PM
Both meetings will take place at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center, located at 2910 S. Cowhorn Creek Loop.
Texas-side Parks and Rec Project Manager Keith Beason invites community members to join the discussion, emphasizing the importance of public input in creating a plan that reflects the needs and aspirations of the city.
The department has partnered with Norris Design, the firm behind Texarkana’s 2016 Comprehensive Plan. Specializing in urban design, landscape architecture, and sustainable solutions, Norris Design aims to create innovative and functional spaces for the community.
In addition to the meetings, an online survey will launch on the project website, txkparks.com, before the February meeting. Residents can share their ideas and feedback to help shape the master plan.
