Texarkana area roads are pretty treacherous today and extreme caution should be used IF you have to get out and about. Our best advice is to stay home, however, if you do have to get out in it, be sure you check your route as best you can before you leave. Here's how you do that here in the Texarkana area.

The screenshot above was taken this morning just before 6 AM. It shows the Texas-side of Texarkana's major roads as covered in snow/ice. The roads were treated before the storm hit but driving conditions are dangerous and caution is advised. Slow down, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The following photos were taken from TxDOT traffic cams at about 6 AM:

The Arkansas-side traffic conditions are the same as you can imagine, you just have to look at a different website for the information. A different state equals a different website.

Conditions are reported as slick with snow, please slow down and be extra cautious this morning.

A mix of freezing rain/snow should continue to fall until around 11 AM on this MLK Jr Day, but the temperatures will get above freezing, so whatever falls is going to stay that way.

Slow down and be careful out there.
