Major Road Reconstruction and Downtown Restriping in Texarkana Begin This Week
If you are driving around Texarkana over the next few days, there is some road work that you should be aware of in several areas of town as the City of Texarkana begins two new street improvement projects.
Waco Street in Texarkana Reconstruction Underway
Starting Tuesday, May 12, crews will begin reconstructing Waco Street between Kilgore Street and South Robison Road in Texarkana, Texas.

According to city officials, this project will include the removal and replacement of about 3,300 feet of concrete pavement. The work is expected to continue for an extended period of time through March 2027.
Traffic control measures are in place during the construction to help keep traffic moving through the area. Drivers need to be aware that they could still experience possible slowdowns and delays. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time in case of possible delays.
Downtown Texarkana Restriping Streets Begins Wednesday, May 13
The city will also begin restriping portions of downtown Texarkana starting Wednesday, May 13.
The work area includes West 7th Street to Broad Street and from Elm Street to Olive Street.
