There’s some good news for future nurses in the Texarkana area. Texas A&M University–Texarkana recently announced a new endowed scholarship for students in its nursing program, thanks to a generous contribution from the Council on Regional Health Education.

Supporting Health Education Close to Home in Texarkana

Founded in 1994 and based in Texarkana, Arkansas, the Council on Regional Health Education is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting and improving access to health education across Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas. This new endowed scholarship will directly support that mission by helping students pursue nursing careers without leaving the region.

University President Dr. Ross Alexander said the donation will make a meaningful impact on both students and the community. He also stated that the scholarship will help keep talented nursing students in the Texarkana area while meeting the growing demand for high-quality healthcare providers throughout our community.

Bob Bruggeman, Mayor of Texarkana, Texas, and President of the Council’s Board of Directors, said,
