The National Association of Letter Carriers' annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive is on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Texarkana.

Stamp Out Hunger Texarkana

Each year on the second Saturday of May, letter carriers across the U.S. collect non-perishable food donations from their customers. These donations go directly to local food pantries that provide hunger relief in neighborhoods throughout Miller and Bowie counties and other nearby regions.

Harvest Regional Food Bank provides much-needed food to over 80 local pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters throughout the year.

“With the high cost of food, people are struggling to put food on their table, especially families with children who may not have access to school-provided meals over the summer," said Camille Wrinkle, CEO of Harvest Regional Food Bank.

If you would like to help, please place a bag of non-perishable food next to your mailbox, and letter carriers will pick it up on Saturday, May 10.

About The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

In the 33 years since it began, the food drive has collected well over 1.9 billion pounds of food for struggling residents nationally. The need for food donations is great, and many people who need help may be too embarrassed to ask. Nearly 5.5 million seniors over age 60 are food insecure, with many who live on fixed incomes. Most food donations are around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but food is especially needed during the summer months when school breakfast and lunch programs are shut down for the summer.

So, please fill a bag and feed a family!
