Texarkana College is proud to host Canvas Chronicles: A Visual Journey– a local student art exhibition from April 22 through April 26.

According to a press release, the exhibit will held in the Stillwell Humanities Center and will feature the talent and artistic medium of nearly 30 students who are attending a TC art class or a continuing education night class for the current 2024 spring semester.

The art reception will kick off the exhibition, taking place April 22, from 5 to 6:30 pm for the public. It will include music, refreshments, and the opportunity to engage with the students who joined to build the event from muses to masterpieces.

Texarkana College Visual Arts Instructor, Dr. Angela Melde, is just as ecstatic about the exhibition.

“Canvas Chronicles: A Visual Journey celebrates the vibrant tapestry of artistic expression, showcasing over 150 works of oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, and 3-D sculptures."

From abstract to realism, each work tells a unique narrative, inviting the viewer to embark on a visual adventure that stimulates the senses.”

From the brushstrokes of masterful painters to the intricacies of sculptural forms, Canvas Chronicles: A Visual Journey will celebrate the power of art to evoke emotion, spark ideas, and tell stories all through what used to lie on a blank canvas and an untouched array of paints.
