Celebrate 150 Years with Texarkana’s Christmas Parade & Santa
What little boy or girl doesn't love to see Santa Clause sitting atop his favorite Texarkana float in the Christmas Parade? Your chance to do just that is coming very soon.
I've been in many a Christmas parade over the years, but even today, I still get a little excited to see the "big guy" waving to the kids and bringing smiles to little faces, and big ones too, when they wave back.
Our next chance to wave at Santa is coming up on Monday night, December 4, in downtown Texarkana as we come together to celebrate the Christmas season and continue the Texarkana 150-year sesquicentennial.
Main Street Texarkana presents 150 Years of Texarkana - Christmas Parade!
It all gets underway at 7 PM, we don't know what the weather will bring just yet but please dress appropriately.
The parade route is posted below, but it is laid out pretty simply with the official starting point at East Broad St. and Walnut St. The parade will travel west to Texas Blvd, then turn north to W 4th St. Turn right again and travel back to the east and end at Walnut St.
So, grab the kids, some chairs, and a blanket or two, if necessary, and let's go have a parade.
Merry Christmas, from all of us here at Townsquare- Texarkana!
