The Salvation Army of Texarkana is inviting the community to come together this Thanksgiving season to help feed local families in need. A Thanksgiving Food Drive will be held on Monday, November 17, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Salvation Army Family Store, located at 420 Walton Drive.

Giving Back to Neighbors in Need

Recently, the need for assistance has grown across our community. According to Captain Juan Gomez, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Texarkana, more families are seeking help than in years past, including some who previously volunteered or donated. Gomez said the food drive serves as a reminder that challenges can touch anyone and that working together makes the greatest impact.

“Together, We Feed Hope” - Salvation Army - Texarkana

The Salvation Army’s message this Thanksgiving, “Together, we feed hope”, highlights how each donation contributes to a brighter holiday for struggling families. Suggested items include stuffing mix, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, frozen turkeys, and pies. Any and all donations will go toward holiday food boxes distributed through The Salvation Army’s social services program.
