Next year we are fortunate to be in the path of the big total solar eclipse in 2024, but another solar eclipse is coming our way sooner! It's the solar eclipse that is happening on Saturday, October 14. You can learn all about eclipses and the best way to view them too in a class at The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.

The class is called “Glowing Like A Solar Eclipse” and it will not only have information about the coming solar eclipses, but you will also learn about the history of eclipses, and most importantly how to watch an eclipse safely. The class will be on Tuesday, October 10 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on the UA Hope campus.

At this workshop, students will have the chance to design their own solar eclipse glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and glasses case holder. They will also learn great information on the science behind solar eclipses and what to expect on the actual days of viewing an eclipse. As a special bonus, students will receive a free pair of solar eclipse glasses they can use to safely view a solar eclipse.

Oh, and you will also be entered into a drawing for a ticket to the VIP section at the total solar eclipse viewing event next year on April 8, 2024. Talk about a fun and informative class. The cost for the course is $35 per student.
