The possibility of nuclear war or WWIII becomes more prevalent every day due to heightened conflicts in Russia and abroad. The latest data shows that Vermont would be the safest place in a nuclear attack followed by Maine, Louisiana, Wyoming, and New Hampshire.

The study is based on population, large groups, climate, supplies, survival resources, medical services, gas and vehicle supplies, weapons and security, and access to gas and food in each state.

What about Arkansas?

The data shows that Arkansas ranked in the Top 10 as a safe place to be in the event of a nuclear apocalypse. Other states included Florida, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota. The states with heavier dense populations were considered the most dangerous places to live in the event of a nuclear apocalypse and fared the worst when it came to survivability. Bing Maps data was used to calculate relevant facilities and resources in each state in the study.

The Map

The map color indicators show the safest and worst places to be in a nuclear apocalypse. Yellow means the worst and the states shaded in purple and deep purple are considered the safest.
