Honor 9/11 First Responders with RRCU’s 2,200-Step Challenge

Red River Credit Union is inviting you, your family, and friends to take part in the RRCU Gives Steps of Service Challenge, a special event honoring the first responders who served and sacrificed during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The challenge runs from Tuesday, September 1 through Friday, September 11, marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

What is the Give Steps of Service Challenge in Texarkana?

The concept is simple: you are encouraged to climb 2,200 stairs, which is the equivalent of 110 stories, all in remembrance of the courageous first responders who climbed the World Trade Center towers that day. Stairs can be climbed anywhere, whether at a stadium, office building, local staircase, or even at home.

Get a friend or a team together and get some sponsors and start raising money for two very important organizations that give back to our community.

Climbing for a Cause

The challenge will conclude with a community remembrance ceremony on September 11 at the Pleasant Grove football field in Texarkana, Texas. And here's the bittersweet part: everyone will gather to honor those lost and complete the final steps together.

You can also look for sponsors and raise money to support two wonderful organizations: the Ark-La-Tex 100 Club, which assists local police officers and firefighters in Bowie and Miller counties, and RRCU Gives, which supports community programs across the region.
