Here’s When To Expect Our First Frost In Arkansas
The Fall season is almost here. We all love the cooler temperatures but when will we wake up to the first frosty morning in Arkansas?
It's always a wonderful feeling to be toasty in bed and then get up to a beautiful frosty morning with a fresh cup of coffee brewing and ready to warm your hands.
Knowing when the first frost is coming is important to farmers but also for anyone who has potted plants outside during the spring and summer months. We need to know when the first frost is coming so we can bring our plants inside. A frosty morning consists of temperatures just above freezing but cold enough to damage tender plants and crops around the mid to high 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The Old Farmers Almanac is here to help predict our first frost of the season.
If you are like me you have some beautiful tropical plants or house plants outside that need to come back inside the house before a frost or they might die.
For Arkansas, we can break the state up into thirds to give you towns in the northern portion of the state, the middle portion and the southern portion to give you a better idea of first frost dates.
