For those who have been complaining about the hot weather and are ready for the fall season, Arkansans will get their first taste of fall this coming weekend.

First Taste of Fall

According to meteorologists from THV11 in Little Rock, a strong cold front is expected to spill into much of Arkansas on Friday leading into what could be the first feeling of crisp Autumn air in the Natural State. The front is expected to bring much cooler and drier air to not only Central Arkansas but much of the entire state as it pushes through the region.

Central and North Arkansas

Central Arkansas is looking at temperatures in the lower 80s while the northern parts of Arkansas will experience temps in the upper 70s for the high. By Saturday and Sunday early morning temperatures are expected to be 50s/60s and 40s/50s in the northern sections of the state.

Southern Arkansas

In the southern regions of Arkansas, the temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60s on Saturday morning and by Sunday morning people could be waking up to temperatures in the upper 50s with highs in the mid 70s.  The less humid drier air will make for a beautiful weekend to go camping, hiking, walking, or just take a Sunday drive with the windows rolled down.

First Day of Fall

The first day of the fall equinox is not until September 22, but I think most won't complain about an early taste of fall. Better enjoy it because it's expected to start heating back up next week. I can't wait to see the leaves start turning colors but not sure how vibrant they will be since we've had such a hot dry summer.
