The announcement was made in a post on the venue’s Facebook page on Sunday, March 8.

Crossties Announces Plans to Close Following Recent Incidents
In the statement, Crossties explained that their staff witnessed concerning behavior during an event over the weekend that created an unsafe environment for both employees and guests.
This past weekend, our team witnessed behavior inside our establishment that was not only disrespectful to our staff and property, but also unsafe for the more than 350 guests in attendance. Despite our efforts to maintain a positive and professional environment, individuals chose to violate our policies — including smoking inside the venue — and videos of this behavior are now circulating on social media.
Existing Events Will Still Take Place at Crossties in Texarkana
Crossties says they will still honor events that have already been booked. However, they are no longer accepting reservations for future events.
Once the remaining scheduled events have taken place, the venue plans to close its doors.

Concerns for Downtown Businesses in Texarkana
It’s always difficult to see a downtown business close, especially one that has hosted so many events over the years.
At the same time, many business owners in the downtown district have worked hard to build a vibrant area filled with shops, boutiques, bars, and restaurants. Ongoing disturbances and fights in the streets are creating unsafe conditions and put those businesses and the public at risk.
