Here's something fun to play while supporting and discovering local businesses in Texarkana. It's the Texarkana City Wide Scavenger Hunt.

Small Business Saturday is officially celebrated on Saturday, November 25, but the Scavenger Hunt will celebrate and highlight our small businesses in Texarkana for an extended time from Friday, November 17 to Friday, December 1. Customers will be encouraged to visit local businesses and search for hidden stockings at participating businesses.

Customers who are on the hunt will scan a QR code attached to the found stocking. Then they will fill out a form and enter to win a variety of prizes. Consumers are asked to spread the word by using the hashtag #ShopSmallTXK23 and posting a photo on social media.

Business Advisor of the Northeast Texas Small Business Development Center Amber Keith said in a press release,

It is essential for us to continue efforts like Small Business Saturday because small businesses create jobs that keep our economy thriving. There are many benefits that come from supporting local businesses, and this campaign is a great way to bring awareness to a year-round effort to strengthen the local economy.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
