Put your chili to the test at the Texarkana Area Veterans Council 24th Annual Veteran's Benefit Chili Cook-off.

The temperatures are dropping and the chili will be good and hot. This is the perfect time of the year for a chili cook-off.

According to the press release,

Come taste some of the wildest, tangiest and most outlandish chili concoctions in Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas!

 

When and Where is the 24th Annual Texarkana Area Veterans Council's Chili Cook-off?

The cook-off will take place at the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College on Friday, February 16 from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Bring the family and taste all the chili entries and then cast your vote for your favorite.

It's an $8 admission which will let you not only taste all chili but also give you the chance to win door prizes.

The money raised will benefit the Texarkana Area Veterans Council and will be used to help our local veterans and to buy a van.

Chili will need to be prepared off-site. Set up will start at 9 AM and judging will begin at 10:30 AM.

Cooks must prepare at least 2 gallons of chili to make sure there is enough to serve the public. The public will be voting for People's Choice and Best Presentation winners.

Trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in three different categories; Business, Civic Groups and Individual.
