Cass County veterans and their families will soon receive much-needed financial support, thanks to a $300,000 grant awarded by the Texas Veterans Commission’s (TVC) Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA). This funding is part of a broader initiative announced by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, which includes over $1.4 million distributed to eight East Texas organizations. These grants aim to provide critical services to veterans and their families across 38 counties, supporting more than 690 veterans.

Governor Abbott expressed Texas' unwavering support for its veterans, saying;

"Texas will always stand with the brave men and women who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today. These Fund for Veterans' Assistance grants will provide financial support and other crucial services to veterans and their families in East Texas. Texas is home to more veterans than any other state, and we will continue to support them to help ensure our nation's heroes prosper for generations to come."

The Cass County grant will provide direct financial assistance to local veterans, helping ease burdens related to housing, bills, and other essential needs. This funding is part of TVC’s mission to support Texas veterans through a wide range of services, from emergency financial help to housing modifications, transportation, legal services, and more.
