Californians Moving to Arkansas in Top 5 – Who Are the Rest?
In the past several years there has been an influx of people leaving their state and moving to the Natural state of Arkansas.
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration has released its 2023 license transfers and Texas was ranked #1 with 5, 793 transfers moving to Arkansas.
Yes, Texas might be a rival state when it comes to football in Arkansas but Texans are making Arkansas their new home away from the Lone Star state. I don't think much about this as other folks may do in Arkansas because living in Texarkana is a normal way of life when the city you live in resides in both Texas and Arkansas.
However, the most shocking is the growing number of people leaving California to move to Arkansas because it has been trending for the past several years, according to the Department of Finance and Administration. California accounted for 3, 239 transfers.
California comes in right behind Texas at #2 and many of the reasons Californians are choosing Arkansas as their new home is that they're tired of the high crime rate, too much traffic, and the cost of living has become too expensive there. The DFA says the cost of living in Little Rock is almost 40 percent that of California.
Quite simply put people are looking for a slower pace of life and want to experience the beauty of the great outdoors that Arkansas has to offer along with enjoying the different seasons they don't get in California. Politics in California was another big reason for making a move to Arkansas.
