National Poll Worker Recruitment Day is Tuesday, August 11.

The Bowie County Elections Office is looking for people to help work the polls during the November midterm election.

As part of National Poll Worker Recruitment Day on Tuesday, Aug. 11, Election Administrator Pat McCoy is encouraging residents to sign up and help make Election Day run smoothly.

More Than 100 Bowie County Workers Needed

During the 2026 early elections, more than 100 poll workers staffed voting locations across Bowie County. Officials say they need another team of workers for the upcoming November election.

Poll workers help set up polling places, greet voters, verify voter registration, issue ballots, and assist voters with the voting process. They may also demonstrate how voting machines work and explain voting procedures.

Paid Training Provided for Poll Workers

All qualified poll workers receive paid training before Election Day.

How to Sign Up

National Poll Worker Recruitment Day was created in 2020 by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to encourage more Americans to serve their communities during elections.
