Bowie County Sheriff’s Investigating DeKalb Double-Homicide
The Bowie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide after two people were found dead at a rural residence near DeKalb, Texas, on Wednesday, June 19.
Bowie County deputies, along with Simms volunteer firefighters, responded to a suspicious death call in the 700 block of Private Road 42041. Family members had reported difficulty reaching Donna Culpepper and went to a home where she was known to stay. They discovered her body in the driveway and called for help.
While deputies were in the process of securing the scene, they then found a burned truck behind the house. The burned-out truck was registered to Charles Beckham; investigators later confirmed Beckham was also found deceased on the same property.
According to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, evidence at the scene indicates both deaths were homicides.
Ms. Culpepper’s vehicle, a gray 2025 Nissan Sentra with Illinois license plate FP281446, was rented from Enterprise Car Rental and was missing from the scene, and is considered stolen.
