Possible Cold Thanksgiving in Arkansas - Will It Happen or Not?
According to the Arkansas Storm Team from KARK-TV and the Climate Prediction Center, several factors must occur first. Several models indicate that colder-than-normal temperatures are likely Thanksgiving Day through early December.
A major weather pattern shift could occur if a ridge of cold air builds over Alaska and pushes its way into Arkansas. If a trough develops, it could allow the colder air to deepen further south.
The verdict is still out; however, possibilities are still likely if a disturbance in the polar vortex occurs. Warmer air in the stratosphere would have to take place for all of this to happen.
