A Texas man was found dead over the weekend on the side of the road close to a small town in West Arkansas.

Arkansas State Police Called in to Investigate

According to a press release, the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division has been called in to investigate the death. The man was found at a rest area on I-40 near Ozark. He was found around 1:45 AM on Saturday, January 4 by a motorist on the shoulder of the road that led to a rest stop.

Man Identified as being from Houston Area

The man has been identified as German Portillo-Batres who was 59 years of age from Richmond Texas located outside of Houston.

The Arkansas State Police CID have transported Portillo-Batres' body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for a thorough examination and autopsy to determine the cause of death. The outcome of this information will help in solving the case.
