Seriously? Contraband Thrown Over Fence at Cummins Unit
Arkansas State Police Troop E troopers assisted the Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC) in two separate incidents over the past month involving attempts to smuggle contraband into state prison units.
The first case happened on January 10 at the Cummins Unit in Lincoln County. Around 11:17 AM, troopers were notified that individuals had thrown contraband over the prison fence. ADC staff recovered marijuana, methamphetamine, K2-soaked paper, and several cell phones.
As correctional officers attempted to stop the suspects, their vehicle became stuck in a nearby field. The occupants fled on foot. Troopers responded quickly and located one suspect within minutes. The individual was taken into custody without incident and transported for charging before being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Two Arrested at Tucker Unit in February Incident
The second incident occurred on February 7 at the Tucker Unit in Jefferson County. ADC patrol officers spotted a suspicious vehicle near farm fields on prison property and were able to block it before it left the area.
Authorities identified the suspects as 22-year-old Kendall Nicole Ezell and 38-year-old Samuel Pierre Moore Jr., who had recently been released from ADC custody.
A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a Glock pistol, multiple cell phones, and duct-taped bundles containing tobacco, marijuana, and additional phones with charging cords. An Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division agent responded to handle the investigation.

Both suspects were transported to the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center and booked on charges related to the simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
State Police officials say the partnership between ASP and ADC remains focused on maintaining security at Arkansas prison facilities.
